LAMBDA Lab seminar: Practical statistics. How do we work the statistics on Large Hadron Collider (LHC)
Analysis of a large amount of data and statistical interpretation of the results is an essential feature of research in high energy physics accelerator. What is so fundamental in our "basic" research? What is special about the interpretation of the results of fundamental research? Why do we use small standard applications and methods of statistical analysis? What are the practical problems faced? What solutions we have found? These popular and related issues were clarified in this review.
