Workshop “AI and the Genetic Computer”

Abstract

The cell can be viewed as a complex biological computing system that processes information and implements genetic programs governing its function and development. Modern technologies enable us to obtain vast amounts of molecular biological data, revealing different levels of organization and regulation in living systems. However, understanding the principles by which cells process biological information and generate complex functional responses remains one of the key challenges in modern biology and medicine. The workshop will explore the potential of artificial intelligence and modern computational methods for studying biological systems. We will discuss how new approaches to data analysis and modeling help uncover complex patterns in cellular processes, improve our understanding of the mechanisms regulating biological processes, and investigate the relationships between molecular mechanisms and cellular functions. Particular attention will be paid to how advances in artificial intelligence are transforming approaches to the study of living systems, opening up new opportunities for fundamental research, and contributing to the development of practical applications in biology and medicine. The workshop will bring together interdisciplinary perspectives on the intersection of artificial intelligence and biology and provide an opportunity to discuss how computational approaches can help advance our understanding of the fundamental principles underlying the organization and functioning of life.
