Panel discussion №2: 'Science in academy vs industry'

To do science in academia (university or academic institute) or in industry?

This has always been an interesting topic of discussion. In recent years, almost all "breakthroughs" in artificial intelligence have been made in industry. Scientists in academia have begun to speculate more about their place and role. Works on this topic have started to appear, for example, "Choose Your Weapon: Survival Strategies for Depressed AI Academics" by Julian Togelius, Georgios N. Yannakakis (https://arxiv.org/abs/2304.06035).

The discussion will include: what to do, how to interact, what "megaprojects" the academy can do together with the industry, and so on.
