5th Fall into ML Conference to Bring Together Leading AI Researchers

The AI and Digital Science Institute at the HSE Faculty of Computer Science invites researchers, developers and everyone shaping the future of technology to the fifth, anniversary edition of the Fall into Machine Learning conference (Fall into ML 2026). The event will take place on October 23–24, 2026, at the HSE Cultural Centre in Moscow and will become the key meeting point for Russia’s AI community.
Over its five years, the conference has grown into a flagship platform where fundamental research and industry solutions come together in a shared space for discussion. In 2025, more than 700 people attended in person, while this year, marking the conference’s fifth anniversary, the organisers expect more than 1,000 guests from Lomonosov Moscow State University, the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, Skoltech, ITMO University and other leading Russian universities, as well as from cutting-edge research centres and major technology companies. Some 70% of participants are students and PhD students—the future of the industry—while the remaining 30% are established researchers whose publications have been accepted at top A*-level conferences such as ICML, NeurIPS, ICLR, AAAI, and COLT.
The organisers have prepared an intensive two-day programme covering the most relevant areas of machine learning, including generative modelling, diffusion models, large language models, reinforcement learning, stochastic optimisation, computer vision, robotics and autonomous systems. Participants will be able to attend mini-courses delivered by leading experts, as well as workshops on applied areas ranging from AI in finance to the interpretability of large language models.
The highlight of the second day will be a poster session, where authors of A*-level papers will present their findings to a broad audience. This will be more than just a presentation: it will be an opportunity to find like-minded researchers for future collaborations, with the format encouraging live discussion, debate around the posters and the development of new hypotheses.
Alexey Naumov
‘Fall into ML was conceived as an informal platform for communication among Russian researchers whose work is accepted at leading international A*-level conferences. In its first year, the event was a small-scale gathering, with around 30 poster presentations. Today, five years later, the conference brings together more than 1,000 participants. This year, we are taking it to a new level by opening our doors to the international research community,’ said Alexey Naumov, Director of the HSE Faculty of Computer Science’s AI and Digital Science Institute and the driving force behind the conference.
The conference offers several participation formats:
Attendee—for those who want to be at the heart of the key trends and listen to presentations by Russia’s leading researchers. Registration is open until October 20.
Workshop—for research teams with current research projects who are ready for an in-depth exploration of specific areas. Applications to run a workshop are open until September 15.
Poster session—for authors of A*-level publications who would like to present their work to a broad audience. Applications for the poster session are open until October 15.
The conference is traditionally held with the support of its general partner, Sber.
Nikolay Tiden
‘For Sber, supporting the Fall into Machine Learning conference is a strategic investment in the development of science,’ said Nikolay Tiden, Senior Managing Director and Director of the Applied AI Centre at Sberbank. ‘Over the past five years, we have seen the conference become a genuine hub for generating ideas, where fundamental research meets the challenges of industry. We value the way the organisers foster dialogue between generations: established authors of top publications and early-career researchers who are just beginning to make their mark work side by side here. In our view, this kind of vibrant interaction is the main driving force behind progress. That is why Sber consistently supports this community: we are convinced that today’s discussions on Pokrovsky Bulvar will be transformed into technological breakthroughs tomorrow.’
Andrey Savchenko
‘Fall into ML is a unique annual platform that brings together Russia’s leading artificial intelligence researchers to present the results they have achieved over the past year. It is not simply a place to present papers—it is a forum for a lively exchange of ideas between representatives of different mathematical schools: optimisation researchers, probability theorists, computational geometers, and others. They bring their approaches into contact, and entirely new research problems often emerge from this interaction. It is precisely this informal synthesis at the intersection of disciplines that makes the conference a truly valuable event for the entire Russian AI community,’ concluded Andrey Savchenko, Scientific Director of Sberbank’s Applied AI Centre and Professor at HSE University.
