The School of Data Analysis and Artificial Intelligence was created in 2014 as part of the Department of Data Analysis and Artificial Intelligence. The school consists of world-renowned researchers who actively participate in international research projects.

Course of lectures by Oleg Pianych, PhD, Assistant Professor of Radiology, Harvard Medical School
On March 24 -27 2013, the 35th European Conference on Information Retrieval (ECIR) took place in Russia. Yandex and the HSE School of Applied Mathematics and Information Science organized the conference, which was held in Russia for the first time. More than 300 researchers, mainly from Western European research centres and universities, took part .
We heartily congratulate third year student, Evgeny Tsimbalov, on his victory at the HSE Annual Scientific Conference for Students, Postgraduate Students, and Young Specialists of MIEM.
A student from the HSE Department of Applied Mathematics and Informatics, Dmitry Gnatyshak, has been awarded a ‘Golden Vyshka’ in the ‘Silver Bird’ category. Dmitry took part in several scientific conferences and his bachelor’s thesis was declared the best in 2012. Dmitry gave a special interview for the HSE news service and explained how he managed to become a ‘high flying bird’.
Our department actively participates in organizing international conferences and workshops on formal concept analysis and its applications, computer-assisted learning, information search, and data development.
The synergy of educational and research processes is essential for the education of future qualified specialists and researchers. The practice, implemented from the first higher education stages, has become traditional for the Moscow School of System Analysis. Maintaining and developing this tradition is an important objective for both the HSE, and the ISA RAS. Establishing the Basic Department ‘Mathematical Methods of System Analysis’, at the ISA RAS will contribute to this objective.
