Participation in the international conference PCT 2025
On April 8, 2025, Nazar Beknazarov, a postgraduate student at the International Laboratory of Bioinformatics, Faculty of Computer Science, HSE, took part in the International Conference "Parallel Computing Technologies 2025" (PCT 2025), where he presented a report "Optimizing Computational Infrastructure for LLMs in Bioinformatics: A Case Study".
Postgraduate student of the International Laboratory of Bioinformatics Nazar Beknazarov took part in the International Conference "Parallel Computing Technologies 2025" (PCT 2025) and presented a report "Optimizing Computational Infrastructure for LLMs in Bioinformatics: A Case Study".

In his report, Nazar presented an innovative approach to optimizing the computing infrastructure for training large language models on bioinformatics data. The work included efficient methods for storing and processing sparse data in the BED format, implementing parallel data loading, and integrating with the PyTorch Lightning distributed learning environment. The proposed solutions allowed for a significant increase in GPU utilization and a reduction in CPU overhead in the HSE cHARISMa high-performance computing cluster. The presentation attracted the interest of HPC and bioinformatics specialists and highlighted the relevance of using LLM in omics data analysis.
