Online school-conference “Information technologies and systems. Bioinformatics "2020

The laboratory became one of the organizers of the school-conference "Information Technologies and Systems. Bioinformatics" on April 11-18, 2020.

Interuniversity student scientific school-conference " Information technologies and systems. Bioinformatics " - 2020 was supposed to be held offline for the second year at the HSE Voronovo Training Center. It was planned to have 4 busy breakout days, 130 students from different universities and the atmosphere of the training center.

Self-isolation changed all plans though. The conference was held from April 11 to 18 in an online format, that allowed more participants to join and diversified the discussion.

140 people took part in the school-conference - students of the Moscow State University, MIEM, the Faculty of Bioengineering and Bioinformatics of Moscow State University, Skoltech, MIPT, the physical and Biological faculties of Moscow State University, as well as schoolchildren.

The conference was divided into following sections - "DNA structure", "Chromatin structure and epigenomics", "Transcriptomes and metabolomes", "Splicing", "Cancer and other diseases"," Protein evolution"," Regulation of transcription and translation"," Bacterial genomes"," Pan-genomes and metagenomes","Evolution and genomics of eukaryotes". Students and professors, leading researchers of faculties and laboratories presented their scientific projects, participated in discussions and communicated with managers.

Students had a unique opportunity to gain new knowledge,  exchange experience, and learn about research and projects conducted in the bioinformatics laboratories of the largest universities in Russia.
