Computational Linguistics

Computational linguistics and intelligent text processing are disciplines that describe computational analysis and text synthesis in natural language. Their functions include machine translation, speech synthesis and recognition, extracting information and facts from text, clustering documents, and information retrieval. In processing web queries it is vital to correctly identify the language, correct typos, carry out a morphological analysis of every word, and to expand the request with synonyms or reformulate it. The computational linguistics research seminar will discuss participants' work and research carried out by invited speakers, as well as papers published in research of leading academic conferences.

See Seminar webpage for more detailed information.

Seminar moderators: Elena Gruntova and Tatiana Lando
