Internships in companies

On September 3, JetBrains opens accepting applications for the fall practice.

For FCS students, this practice can be considered as an integral part of the project work performed throughout the academic year. To do this, the student (or his mentor at the request of the student) from the company must, after successfully passing the internship competition (see below), submit an initiative project in the prescribed manner through the form on the website of the center for practice, project work and entrepreneurship: https://cs.hse.ru/cppr/project_work 
! Please note that the project must be approved by academic program managers or experts of the CPPRiP FCS.

The conditions of practice are as follows:
* You are working on a project remotely
* Practice lasts 3 months, from October to December
* The project will take you 10-15 hours a week
* Once a week you call up with a mentor to discuss the project

All project descriptions and small video presentations are posted in our web application and will be available via links from 12:00 on September 3:

Before you apply, you will need to register in the app (if you haven't already done so). 

After registration, you can choose from 1 to 3 projects that are most interesting to you, and start the test tasks.

 ! Please note that the links will start working only after you register in the application (i.e. you must be logged in).  

Deadline for submitting applications and completing test tasks: September 20 at 23:59.

About a week after the end of accepting applications, you will receive a notification about the result of the first stage of the competition. 

The second stage, traditionally, is an interview with the project manager.

To get a job opportunity, you need:

Among the participants of the SAS Internship Program, we are waiting for:
- students not younger than the 3rd year of bachelor's/specialist's degree, master's degree or recent graduates;
- those who know at least one programming language;
- versed in SQL and/or statistics;
- having citizenship of the Russian Federation / CIS and the ability to work from 25 hours a week.

On March 27, at 12:00, the Training Center <epam> will hold an online conference Juniors Online Conference for those who want to build a career in IT. 

During the conference:

- Speakers will tell you how to gain experience in IT, how to make a resume correctly, about roles in development teams;
- EPAM employees will share stories of how they came to IT;
- The participants of the meeting will become spectators of the technical interview. It will be held live;
- The participants of the meeting will be able to chat with recruiters in the chat and ask everything they have wanted for a long time;
- At the end of the conference, the organizers will hold a quiz among the participants.

What areas of internships will there be this year:

- backend development;
- frontend development;
- machine learning;
- analytics;
- mobile development;
- and other directions

What you need to know and be able to: 
All trainees need excellent knowledge of basic algorithms and data structures, as well as the ability to write code in one of the programming languages. Other requirements depend on the direction. For example, an analyst needs to know mathematical statistics and Python well, and an ML developer needs to know the basic methods of machine learning and their application in practice.

Internships are possible in three ways: 

- internship during the year; 
- summer internship;
- program Deep Dive by Bootcamp system.

All internships are possible in full-time or remote format - depending on the epidemiological situation. Applications are accepted until May 31.

What is important to know this year:

• The contest starts on March 29 and will be held in the web application internship.jetbrains.com.
• Deadline for submitting applications and solving test tasks: April 11 at 23:59.
• Internship areas: developers, researchers, marketers, support, testers, designers, and even HR!
• Internship format: remote, from July 1 to August 27, fulltime.

By tradition, the internship organizers will publish a full list of projects with descriptions in the web application, and students will be able to choose those that are interesting to them. In order not to miss anything, we recommend that you immediately register in the Jetbrains app and fill out your profile.

Also on Wednesday, March 24 at 18:00 (Moscow time), representatives of Jetbrains will hold a webinar about internships with a broadcast on YouTube. Speakers will tell you how internships are arranged, how the competition is held, what results can be expected, and also answer questions from listeners that can be asked in the chat. 

And on March 26, at 18:00, Jetbrains will hold an online lecture in the IT lecture hall of the FCS on the topic "Machine learning on source code".
At the lecture, the speakers will tell you why the analysis of source code using machine learning methods is not such a simple thing and will demonstrate several examples of pipelines for solving software engineering problems.
After the lecture, the speakers will talk about summer internships at JetBrains: what will be the rules and deadlines for recruitment in 2021, where to find out about this year's topics and projects, how to get acquainted with internship managers, etc. Also, after the lecture, the speakers will answer all the questions of the audience.

On March 11, at 18:00, Kaspersky Lab will hold an online meetup on the development of mobile products, following which participants can be selected for an internship in the areas of development, testing and analytics. The team is working on a lot of B2B and B2C products that are really popular: for example, the KIS for Android app now has more than 10 million active users.

At the event, Kaspersky Lab mobile development experts:

- dispel the myths of mobile development and testing
- they will talk about what the development of mobile products in LC is and what advantages it has in comparison with other companies
- share their own experience in building a career from an internship to an expert
- announce the recruitment of interns to Kaspersky Lab and give a test task to everyone
