Fall into ML: Autumn School and Conference on Machine Learning Held at HSE University
On November 1st-3rd, 2022 the International Laboratory of Stochastic Algorithms and High-Dimensional Inference of the HSE Faculty of Computer Science and the Laboratory of Methods for Big Data Analysis with the support of HSE AI Centre and the Russian Science Foundation organized the first autumn school and conference on artificial intelligence ‘Fall into ML’. The new format of the event included a school for students and young researchers.

The International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) World Finals took place on November 6–11 in Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh. The team from the HSE Faculty of Computer Science (FCS) took ninth place, winning bronze and achieving the best result among Russian universities.

HSE Students Get Gold, Silver and Bronze in International Mathematical Competition

HSE’s team has won four gold, one silver and one bronze medal at the International Mathematical Competition for University Students (IMС 2016), the most representative mathematics contest for university students. The team included students from the Faculty of Computer Science and the Faculty of Mathematics.

Machine Learning Becomes Major Research Field at Big Data and Information Retrieval School

Sergey Bartunov, Lecturer at the Big Data and Information Retrieval School, gave a talk about machine learning to first-year students. He mentioned theoretical issues and main applied problems that can be successfully solved using the methods of machine learning.
