The Faculty of Computer Science was created with the goal of becoming one of the world’s leading faculties for developers and researchers in data analysis, machine learning, big data, theoretical computer science, bioinformatics, system and software engineering, system programming, and distributed computing. In cooperation with major companies like Yandex, Sberbank, SAS, Samsung, 1C, and many others, the Faculty provides both deep theoretical knowledge and hands-on practical experience in many branches of contemporary computer science.
The candidate must have a recently obtained doctorate (Ph.D.) in computer science, mathematics or other related field of science. Or, at the time of application, he must have one year to complete his degree. It is also expected that the candidate will conduct research on a high level and publish them in reputable peer-reviewed journals and represent the University at conferences.
Teaching experience in leading foreign universities is desirable. Knowledge of the Russian language is not required, as research and teaching are conducted in English. Fluency in English is a requirement. Host departments may have additional selection criteria.
