Ilya Segalovich Scholarship
Ilya Segalovich Scholarship is created to support students fascinated by science and technology. It is awarded for outstanding achievements in study and research. It is available to the first, second, and third-year bachelor students, first-year master students, and first and second-year doctoral school students (third-year students of the four-year programme are eligible as well).
Sixteen scholarships are awarded annually by the board of the Faculty of Computer Science professors, totaling the sum of 3,420,000₽. Bachelor students receive 30,000₽, master students – 35,000₽, and doctoral students – 40,000₽ per month. The number of scholarships awarded to each category varies every year.
Ilya Segalovich (1964-2013) was a co-founder and CTO of Yandex. He has created the first Yandex search engine and the word Yandex itself. A man of learning and active citizen, Segalovich helped to organise “Children of Mary” rehabilitation centre. He had five children.
Competitive Programming Achievements Scholarship
Yandex Competitive Programming Achievements Scholarship is granted to the members of a competitive programming team eligible for the Northern Eurasia Programming Contest no more than one year before.
Scholarships are awarded four times per year - November to December, January to March, April to June, and September to October.
The standard scholarship is 15,000₽ per month. A special scholarship of 30,000₽ per month is given to the students eligible to compete in the ICPC finals.
Scholarships are awarded by the joint board of HSE University and Yandex representatives approved by the Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science.
Students eligible for the Competitive Programming Achievements Scholarship can apply for other scholarships as well.
Scholarship for International Olympiad for High School Students Winners
This scholarship is awarded to the Faculty of Computer Science first-year bachelor students who have received gold, silver, or bronze medal of the International Olympiad in Informatics, International Mathematical Olympiad, or International Physics Olympiad.
The scholarship of 20,000₽ per month is granted for a full year.
1C:Scholarship
1C:Scholarship is awarded for the achievements in project work and research based on topics proposed by 1C. First to third-year bachelor students and first-year master students are eligible for the scholarship (fourth-year bachelor students can apply provided that they will enroll at the Faculty of Computer Science’s master’s programme.)
Mentors and project supervisors can nominate students. Scholarships are granted by the board of 1C and Faculty of Computer Science representatives. Annually, ten scholarships of 10,000₽ or 20,000₽ per month can be granted.
CoCoS Scholarship
CoCoS Scholarship (Conference of Computer Science), undergraduate, specialist and graduate students, as well as graduate students present their research and applied projects in various fields of computer science. The conference is an excellent platform for the exchange of experience of young researchers and developers, and also allows you to demonstrate the diversity of interests of students and postgraduates.
Following the results of the conference, a nominal scholarship of the Faculty of Computer Science is awarded "The best report of the section of the Student Scientific and Practical Conference of the COCOS FCS" for high results and high-quality work on a project or research presented in the form of a report at the applied or research section of this conference.

Who can apply for this scholarship?
- Students of the Bachelor's degree programs of the FCS;
- Students of the Master's degree programs of the FCS;
- Students of the graduate programs of the FCS;
The Scholarship Fund is established annually on the basis of decisions taken by the Financial Commission of the Academic Council of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Board of Trustees of the HSE Endowment Fund.

Young Entrepreneur Scholarship
Young Entrepreneur scholarship is allocated for the development of entrepreneurial projects and is assigned:
- students of the bachelor's and master's programmes;
- students of the Doctoral School of Computer Science.
The scholarship is awarded in two nominations:
- The best idea of an entrepreneurial project
- The best entrepreneurial project
