Topology of Torus Actions and Related Topics Conference Takes Place

The international conference Topology of Torus Actions and Related Topics organized by the International Laboratory of Algebraic Topology and its Applications and Sirius Mathematical Centre was held in Sochi on October 25-29.

Plenary talks were given by Victor Buchshtaber, Mikiya Masuda, Alexander Esterov, Roman Avdeev, Valentina Kirichenko, Andrey Vesnin, Oleg Musin, Steven Terio, Sueng Choi.

Conferences in the field of toric topology and related fields were held regularly until 2020. Now for the first time, such an event was held in person and under the aegis of HSE University. The conference managed to gather not only specialists in the field of toric actions directly but also representatives of close fields of mathematics, which allowed our laboratory to expand the network of contacts and formulate new interdisciplinary research problems. We are now planning to publish a special volume of the Proceedings of the Steklov Mathematical Institute on toric topology. It is expected that the participants of this conference will publish their works in this volume. Several talented undergraduate and graduate students from HSE University also participated in the conference; we hope that the conference broadened their scientific horizons and will help them in their future research careers.
