The convenor of "Data Science and Business Analytics" visited the Faculty of Computer Science
Dr. James Abdey, the convenor of "Data Science and Business Analytics", visited the Faculty of Computer Science from the 8th till the 11th of November. He spoke to our students about the specifics of the London exams and gave the students some advice on how to better prepare for them. James also took part in the round table with ICEF and DSBA math professors. Our 2nd-year students were given several lectures and seminars in Statistics, which James teaches at LSE.
Dr. James Abdey turned out to be a very charismatic lecturer, it was a pleasure to listen to him. The lecture itself was quite informative and cleared up some of the questions we had about HSE and UOL partnership. Hopefully, we’ll have a chance to hear the lecture in statistics for the 2nd-year students!
We were excited about this lecture! We’ve enjoyed talking with James in person, it was great to find out more about our programme directly from the convenor. We discussed some basic statistics in class, which was very helpful.
I’m delighted to have met our Data Science and Business Analytics students at HSE. As the first cohort prepares for their University of London exams, it was great to have the opportunity to deliver some lectures and explain the academic expectations of the programme. Also, wonderful hospitality from HSE – спасибо!"
James participated in the Faculty of Computer Science’s Open Day. Prospective bachelor’s students and their parents were quite interested in his talk on the basics of the programme, University of London diploma and possible career trajectories. Later that day, Dr. Abdey gave a lecture in Data analysis and the dangers of making a bed as a part of the Open Day Lectorium.
We hope Dr. Abday’s visits will become more and more regular!
