On July 15-30, the Seventh International School on Machine Learning in High Energy Physics (MLHEP) organised by the Laboratory of Methods for Big Data Analysis (LAMBDA), Yandex School of Data Analysis and EPFL (Switzerland) took place.

Kamila Usmanova, a second-year master's student in Data Science, is studying in Germany on an academic mobility programme. We talked to her about the challenges of mobility, new experiences, and the interaction of cultures.

The ABZ 2021 Meeting was held virtually on May 19, 2021, at the Faculty. The first of its kind, this international conference gathered more than 200 scientists from many disciplines to specifically address progress in research involving Z-DNA and Z-RNA. 

Indra Avatar Singh, a student of the System and Software Engineering master's programme from India, talked to us about his view of the Faculty, his studies, and why he loves Moscow.

Here is Mikhail Kazantsev, a second-year student of the Financial Technologies and Data Analysis master's programme. He is currently studying in Paris at École Polytechnique via a mobility programme. We talked to him about academic mobility in the midst of a pandemic.

It is a custom to tally up the year's results in December. We would like to tell you the results of the scientific life at the Faculty of Computer Science in 2020. You can read about the first half of the year in our previous digest. While this was not a year on which we shall look back with undiluted pleasure, but we still managed to achieve important results, adapted to changing circumstances, and made our best.

Faculty of Computer Science thrives and flourishes even during the pandemic. We have already told you how the Faculty switched to distance learning . However, the Faculty is a research centre as well as the educational one. It comprises twelve laboratories researching into data science, theoretical computer science, process-oriented information systems, bioinformatics, financial technologies, and other fields of study. We want to tell you about the progress of research at the Faculty of Computer Science during the first half of 2020.
