International Student Programs

General information     Selection procedure     Participants of the programs

The Faculty of Computer Science is a young and fast-growing part of National Research University Higher School of Economics (HSE). One strategic area of our activities is the establishment and development with leading foreign educational and research institutions as well as IT firms. We are eager to identify opportunities for our students to learn about the latest global achievements in information technologies and applied mathematics, acquire skills for working in a global environment, and rely on the experience of teaching special disciplines at leading international universities.

HSE has an impressive list of international partner universities. With have signed agreements on double-degree programs and student exchange programmes with these institutions. For example, in collaboration with Blaise Pascal University (France) our faculty is implementing a double Master's programme  in "Applied Mathematics and Informatics" and student exchange programme. In January 2017, University Clermont Auvergne was established as a merge of University Blaise Pascal and University d’Auvergne. It is a full assignee of two previous universities. in October 2016, it was signed an agreement with Lappeenranta University of Technology (Finland) on establishing a double Master's programme in "System and Software Engineering". Earlier, a similar programme was realized in partnership with Technische Universiteit Eindhoven (Netherlands). Further partnerships with this university are now underway in other areas.

Our students may take part in short-term (up to three months) and long-term academic exchange programmes with foreign partner universities such as:

Germany

Italy

Netherlands

Norway

Student exchange programmes provide training at foreign universities with the aim of obtaining a transcript with appropriate grades and credits. The period of training usually does not exceed one or two semesters. The universities partners of HSE usually agree to waive tuition fees for exchange students. However, visa, travel, insurance, meals, and accommodation expenses must be paid by students themselves. In exceptional cases, payments for certain expenditures may be made from the HSE budget

Students also have an opportunity to participate in grant programmes. In this case, applications for grants are made by students independently to the appropriate organization in agreement with his/her educational office and academic supervisor. In particular, the German fund DAAD actively offers scholarships for semester internships in Germany.

More information on participation in international student programmes is available on the homepage (https://studyabroad.hse.ru/en/) of the HSE Office of Internationalization.
