On October 18, 2015 for the first time ever, the Faculty of Computer Science at HSE will host the quarter-finals of the International Collegiate Programming Contest, ACM ICPC.

On Monday 28th September Bernhard Ganter, Professor of Science at the renowned university TU-Dresden in Germany, co-founder and co-director of the Museum of Mathematics, Erlebnisland-Mathematik, will give a public lecture at HSE on Mathematics as an Adventure.
On September 22, a presentation will take place marking the opening of a new joint department with the Institute for System Programming (ISP) of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The joint department is being created as part of the School of Software Engineering of the Faculty of Computer Science. The joint department will add to the Computer Science Faculty’s academic and pedagogical activities by offering system programming, a core area of programming research.

The Twenty-ninth Annual Conference on Neural Information Processing Systems (NIPS) is a single-track machine learning and computational neuroscience conference that includes invited talks, demonstrations and oral and poster presentations of refereed papers. All of the key breakthroughs in machine learning over the last 15 years were first presented at this conference. The conference is assigned to the highest category (A*) in the CORE Conference Ranking.

Sergey Avdoshin, Head of the School of Software Engineering became member of the Programme Committee of the 7th International Conference on Software Business.
