HSE Researchers Talk with High Schoolers about What IT Will Be Like in 10 Years
How do scientists steer satellites and remotely probe our planet’s surface? Researchers from HSE and other universities discussed questions such as this with students from 36 participating Moscow high schools as part of the city government’s Moscow School IT-Classes project. Eight educational partners, including HSE and Bauman Moscow State Technical University, are participating in the project, which aims to familiarize students with careers in IT.

HSE First-Year Student Participates in Russia-ASEAN Youth Summit
The Fifth Russia-ASEAN Youth Summit took place in Manila, the Philippines, from November 26th – 30th, 2019. The President of the Philippines, Rodrigo Duterte, met with the participants of this international event, which was organized by the National Youth Committee with the support of the MGIMO ASEAN Centre. Vladislav Belovitsky, first-year student of Software Engineering at the HSE Faculty of Computer Science, attended the event as part of the Russian delegation, through winning an English-language essay competition.

Two International Students Receive HSE Silver Nestling Awards
At last week’s Golden HSE Award Ceremony, the winners of the Silver Nestling Award included two international students: Yunying Pei (China) of the Dual Bachelor’s Programme in Data Science and Business Analytics, and Juan Sota (Spain) of the Master’s Programme in Medieval Studies. HSE News Service spoke to the two students about their courses, speaking Russian, and the reactions their families and friends had when they told them they won the Silver Nestling Award.
